I rose from the ashes, and here I stand, undimmed.

My parents were hippies from the 60's, so growing up with music was my life. I started playing guitar at 11 years old, on a classic nylon string acoustic, which helped built calluses slowly. Then steel string acoustic worked them up tough. After that, electric was easy. My father was my biggest inspiration. At first he wanted me to be a drummer, then we would be in a band together. But my mom felt I would be a better guitarist since I always blared my music. It was never loud enough...lol. The joke at the time was, I had small fingers for being a guitarist... so stretch chords are what I worked the most early on!! Developing a ear for music early on was key for me, as well as learning riffs and developing a style for myself out of that.

Music and guitar helped me through ALL the tough times and rough places I had lived growing up; it literally saved me, Who knows what my life would have become otherwise? It was a good addiction, my only addiction at the early time of my development. I was completely self-taught, learning by listening to the radio, and whatever I could find on TV and at the library.

Four years into playing guitar, we moved from Richmond to Vallejo around 1983. There I found other musicians who were into Punk, Hardcore and Metal. I also discovered my love and absolute 100% interest of the rising Bay Area scene of THRASH METAL!! Watching all these super amazing guitarists, and going to shows EVERY weekend… Gilman, The Stone, The Omni, Maybuhay Gardens, The Farm, the Oakland Metro Opera House, shows ALL across California… I was so absorbed into the metal scene, the punk scene, even the new wave/modern rock scene. I took ALL this music and turned into inspiration...there wasn't anything that didn't influence me some way, some how. Music was my first love and it never failed me, it was always there to bring me up!!

Starting in a punk hardcore band, "Lacerated Silly," we recorded our first five song demo, "Jim" with the legendary audio guy from Gilman, "Marshall Stax." Later went on to form a band called "StringField Theory." Also played in a punk band called "The Antibodies." Starting a band 2003 named "Holoscene" I wrote and played "progressive rock/indie" for nearly 8 years. However Punk, Metal and Hardcore where my specialties. Always pushing forward with my love of music and writing, I played many many gigs, from backyard parties with 30 people, to clubs with up to 300.

My current band "Veronica Lucia" is the BEST! Everything I've done in the past has lead me to this!!! With experience and knowledge, rocking with Rob and V, is like having a brother and sister who not only know and accept my general silliness, but respect and seek out what I can attribute to our badass band!! Professionalism and fun, I would never guessed could go hand in hand. Yet they prove this isn't just a band, it's a family!! I love them two and making music together doesn't get any better than this.

Playing music will always be forever in my life, it's the one thing I never want to lose and being in a band, on stage playing live is a love that drives me to be alive!!
